We are currently offering Further and Higher Education courses in Performing Arts at Jelli Studios Theatre Arts College, which alongside intense practical training will provide a plethora of opportunities for learners who study here.

 

Jelli Studios Theatre Arts College has strong links with professional production companies, alongside our own management/performers agency which has close connections to the industry’s leading casting directors. A student on this programme would be given sufficient exposure to these contacts, in the hope that they could secure future employment opportunities. Students may

also receive opportunities to gain employment whilst training, in the past these opportunities have included; dancing for The Greatest Dancer, The X Factor, professional pantomimes, TV work, and large commercial events in major UK cities. This course is the ideal place to begin your higher-level studies in Performing Arts.

 

The programmes are distinctive because:

 

Teaching staff all have industry relevant experience, from West End and Broadway, feature films, directing, choreography and composition. The faculty are still active in the industry, as creatives and in some instances researchers. These experiences ensure that students are given a true account of the industry they are soon to enter. It provides a platform for students to engage and communicate with professionals in the field; the faculty do their utmost to link their professional industry work to their teaching.

BTEC National Extended Diploma Level 3

 

Performing Arts Practice is a 2 Year Course Equivalent to; 3 A Levels A-C 96-168 UCAS Points.

 

This practical programme gives you the opportunity to study both practical and theoretical elements of performing arts, mirroring the working world.

 

You will attend college four days a week and complete intensive training and workshops, developing your dance technique, acting, singing and performance skills.

 

This is exclusive of additional rehearsals and performances that you may be given to opportunity to participate in.

HND

 

Overview of the award – what does the course involve?

The qualification provides a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in the performing arts sector. Alongside the development of practical skills across the disciplines of singing, dancing and actin, you will be encouraged to explore an entrepreneurial approach to the Performing Arts industry.

 

Aims of the programme:

The academic content of this programme concentrates on providing opportunities for full-time students to gain a nationally recognised qualification. This will enable students to enter employment in the Performing Arts industry and progression to higher education qualifications such as a full-time top-up degree in Musical Theatre, Dance, Drama and Voice Studies

This is exclusive of additional rehearsals and performances that you may be given to opportunity to participate in.

 

Assessment:

You will be required to complete an assessment for each module of your course. Your work will be assessed in each unit through the completion of project-based assignments. The work you will be required to complete will be a mixture of theoretical and practical projects, always with the emphasis on relevance to the Performing Arts industry. Assessment can take a number of forms including: logs, vlogs, group work, rehearsals, presentations, written assignments and live performance.

 

Students will also be delivered a selection of optional modules which will be required in order to complete the credit requirements of the qualification.

IDTA

 

In addition to BTEC and HNC programmes, Jelli Studios Theatre Arts College offer optional teacher training at Level 3 and 4 with International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA).

The Level 3 qualification is a fantastic introduction to the foundations of teaching at an assistant level. This allows for progression onto the Level 4 teaching qualification.

Second year students have the opportunity to study a Level 4 qualification which enables them to graduate as a fully qualified teacher with the IDTA.

The Level 4 Diploma qualifies students to teach and enter their own learners for examinations in; Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz and Theatre Craft, as well as Musical Theatre, Gymnastics and much more.

 

 

Course Fees

Fees payable are for the planning, preparation, delivery and assessment of the course content, all of which are essential to enable full coverage of qualification curriculum.

 

Payment for the programme can be made by any of the below;

 

• Full upfront course fees of £800 must be paid to the centre upon enrolment

 

• Three payments of £300 must be paid at the start of each academic term

 

• Nine monthly instalments of £112

 

 

Please note, the above is exclusive of examination fees, which will be paid directly to the IDTA governing body.
